These programs enhance independence and improve access to the community for those with blindness and visual impairment.
Casework services:
Caseworkers schedule home visits, needs assessments, and inform clients of all appropriate agency and community resources that may be beneficial.
Escort/ Transportation Services:
Drivers, specially trained in sighted guide techniques, provide door to door transportation to doctor appointments, supermarkets, banks, and to locations related to receipt of service.
Chore services:
Trained staff assists clients with mail reading, bill paying, correspondence, filling out forms, labeling and general household organization.
Life Skills Education Group:
Groups meet for support that promotes adjustment to vision loss through effective, adaptive, and coping skills. Agenda includes instruction, discussion, informational lectures by guest speakers, art workshops, gardening, field trips and social activities.
